Despite the hype surrounding PBL, it is seldom made a reality in our schools & classrooms. Due to its countless layers & complexities, and despite best efforts, educators often implement something that only vaguely resembles PBL.

Project Based Learning can be messy, complicated, and downright scary. When done right, though, PBL and Inquiry are challenging, inspiring and fun for students. Best of all, when project-based learning is done right, it actually makes the teacher's job easier.

When you complete this course and learn how to “hack project based learning”, you will be able to:

- Create a culture of risk-taking to promote student inquiry & exploration
- Maximize class time by prioritizing specific content & learning outcomes
- Learn how to craft assessments & integrate feedback to ensure every student learns
- Prove intentional & purposeful opportunities for student reflection & publishing

In addition to learning how to “hack PBL”, we also hope to provide you with an opportunity to experience online learning as a student. Flexibility to work at your own pace is a major benefit to online learning. Over the course of the next 2 weeks, you will be able to read the book while working through an Introduction as well as 4 modules at your own pace. Moreover, you will be exposed to meaningful ways to collaborate with colleagues from across the district. There are many great resources to make online coursework engaging, and we hope to expose you to a variety of them.
