The following video details how to take care of your Chromebook. This applies to all KCS devices, including tablets. Please show this video to your class, then complete the activity below to reinforce good care of devices.

Activities
Choose one of the activities below to reinforce good device care practices with your students:
- Choose a student to model practices you will be doing in your classroom. This could include:
- Getting a tablet or Chromebook from storage, unplugging it, and carrying it to the Tech Center or their seat.
- Carrying the Chromebook with two hands and not by the screen.
- Keeping the tablet or Chromebook on a flat surface when using it.
- Keeping food or drinks away from tablet or Chromebook.
- Checking for pencils or other items before closing the lid of the Chromebook.
- Taking the table or Chromebook back to storage and plugging it up.
- Put students' learning to the test! Get a tablet or Chromebook and do things you shouldn't and tell your students it's their job to identify what's wrong and tell you the right way to do it.
- Have students get creative:
- Draw or create a poster illustrating one of the rules.
- Put on a skit illustrating one of the rules
- Create a song to about good device care
- Or, come up with your own fun activity to make sure students know the rules!
